BC Fire Expo

The BC Fire Expo will open at 10:00 am on Sunday. The BC Fire Expo will close at 1700 hours and re-open Monday morning at 0900 hours. Please plan to attend both days and support our Trades! They provide excellent support for our organization and they would love to meet and talk to each and every one of you.

Bringing a guest or your firefighters?

Admittance to the BC Fire Expo is :
FREE for “uniformed” firefighters or $10 for others – this does not include any meals.

New Members Orientation

If you are new to the Association, a newly appointed senior officer, or a first time conference delegate, you should plan on attending this very informative orientation session. This course goes well beyond what happens at the conference and includes information on legislation, training and education as well as the myriad of rules and regulations that face us every day.

This is a “must attend” for any New Chief!  There is no charge to attend this session but you must pre-register.

BC Fire Expo Prize Draws

There will be prize draws on both Sunday and Monday with CASH draws taking place as well. The last CASH Draw  takes place at 1445 hours on Monday on the trade floor. Remember to bring your ticket! You must be in attendance to win!  Various prize draws will be made by individual Trades at their respective display booths from time to time throughout the days.  The prize winners will be posted at these display booths making the draw(s).  The BC Fire Expo officially ends at 1500 hours on Monday.

Regional Managers meeting

The Regional District Managers meeting and the Airport Committee will meet at a meeting room at the BC Fire Expo on Monday morning. These meetings are open for any delegate to attend and discuss issues that are relative to these two groups.

Diversity and Inclusiveness Committee meeting

The Diversity and Inclusiveness Committee meeting will be held on Monday at a meeting room at the BC Fire Expo. This meeting is open for any delegate to attend.

IAFF Contract Chiefs meeting

The IAFF Contract Chiefs meeting will be held on Monday morning at a meeting room at the BC Fire Expo. This meeting is only open to Career Chiefs that manage a department with an IAFF Contract.

Security

ALL PERSONS – wishing to have access to any event, meeting, meals, BC Fire Expo, and receptions must be registered for the FCABC conference.

The “BC Fire Expo Day Pass”, is so that partners, co-workers, and friends may gain access to these events and facilities without having to be a conference delegate, presenter, BC Fire Expo representative or enrolled in the partners program.

Please note, there is a separate charge for each day of the BC Fire Expo.  No access to the trade floor or  receptions will be given to anyone not having the appropriate supplied name badge.  Don’t forget to keep it with you at all times.

Registration Desk

The registration desk for delegates will be at the BC Fire Expo and will open at 1000 hours on Sunday and will continue to be open for the remainder of the BC Fire Expo before moving to the Education venue.

Opening Ceremonies and
Memorial Service

(dress – fire department uniform or suit and tie)
The Opening Ceremonies and Memorial Service are held Monday at 1800 hours with the piping in of the colour party and the dignitaries. After the national anthem, our President will officially declare the conference open and introduce the dignitaries. A conference blessing and brief messages from the dignitaries follows with the Memorial Service recognizing those members and past members and the firefighters that have answered the last alarm in the past year. The opening ceremonies concludes about 1900 hours.

Annual Banquet

(dress – fire department uniform or suit and tie)
A no host bar will be available before the banquet beginning after the Opening Ceremony. An excellent gourmet dinner is a continuation of the formalities with presentations taking place after dinner.
